2023 Secondary School Competitions - Housekeeping


Secondary School Baksetball tips-off this week and we would like to remind you of some important points to enable the smooth running of the season. 

 

4. Player Registration

4.1. Players must be registered online before the first game of competition (unless otherwise stated). 

Secondary School Leagues - Any teams playing without registered players at any time will automatically default their game.

  • Player registration due date for 2023 SS Leagues was stated as Thursday 2nd May!
  • Junior Competitions: Player registrations are now overdue all school contacts have been emailed with their current state of registrations today 3rd May. Player registrations will be UNABLE to be taken at the stadium, so any unregistered players after midday Thursday 4th May will not be able to play – this will be heavily policed.
  • Senior Competitions: Player registrations are now overdue all school contacts will be emailed with their current state of registrations tomorrow 4th May. Player registrations will be UNABLE to be taken at the stadium, so any unregistered players after midday Friday 5th May will not be able to play – this will be heavily policed.

 

7. Scorebench

7.5. Secondary School and Adult (running clock games): Each must provide one person to complete the score bench for their own game. This person must be a different person from the coach.

7.6. Secondary School and Adult (stop clock games):  Each team must provide 2 persons to complete score bench for their own game. Any team failing to provide this within 5 minutes of the scheduled tip-off time will forfeit the game. This person must be a different person from the coach.

9. Defaults

9.5. Teams will receive an automatic $50 fine for defaulting under the following circumstances:

  • Any default where notice is not given 48 hours prior to the games scheduled start time.
  • For their third default of the season of any kind, and each subsequent default after that in all leagues.
  • Any default to a scheduled Centralines Secondary School games without a valid reason (at the judgement of BBHB).

11. Uniforms

11.1. Mouthguards are compulsory for all Intermediate & Secondary School competitions - NO EXCEPTIONS.

Players will not be allowed to take the court without one and will be required by the referee to be substituted out of the game if they are found to not be wearing a mouthguard at any time (including stored in clothing)– players leaving the court to get a mouthguard are required to remain substituted for a running clock phase of the game before they can return.

 

After the construction of the draws, they are FINAL, and no changes will be made unless absolutely necessary at the discretion of BBHB.
